Experience the exquisite Tequila Fortaleza Añejo, a tequila that embodies the pinnacle of quality and craftsmanship. Produced under the NOM 1493, sourced from the Tequila Valley, every aspect of its production showcases the dedication to excellence.
The journey begins with the agave, carefully cultivated from the Tequila Valley, renowned for its exceptional quality. The agave hearts undergo the traditional cooking method of stone and brick ovens, imparting a distinct character to the tequila. Crushing is meticulously performed with 100% stone, ensuring the agave's full expression is captured.
The double distillation process takes place in copper pots, a classic technique that allows for the preservation of flavors and aromas. The tequila is artfully distilled to reach a proof of 80 (40% ABV), striking the perfect balance.
Fermentation takes place in open-air wood tanks, allowing the natural environment to contribute to the tequila's development. Only 100% agave sugars are used, further enhancing the purity of the spirit. The water source, a natural spring from the Tequila Valley, lends its pristine qualities to the final product.
The bottles themselves are hand-blown in Mexico, a testament to the artistry and attention to detail that goes into every aspect of Tequila Fortaleza Añejo.
After the meticulous production process, the tequila is aged for a remarkable 18 months in American Oak barrels. This extended maturation imparts a depth of flavor, with tasting notes including caramel, vanilla, butterscotch, and cooked agave. Delicate nuances of pineapple, peach, orange blossom, nutmeg, and raisin can also be detected in the aromas.
Upon tasting, the full experience of cooked agave unfolds, enveloping the palate with a thick and oily texture. Butterscotch, caramel, toffee, citrus, and hazelnuts contribute to the delightful flavor profile.
Tequila enthusiasts cherish Fortaleza Añejo as a prized treat, a testament to its richness, complexity, and unique character. Indulge in the ultimate tequila experience with Tequila Fortaleza Añejo and discover the true artistry of this exceptional spirit.

What is the difference between Tequila & Mezcal?
Tequila is a type of mezcal, much like how scotch and bourbon are types of whiskey.
Tequila and mezcal are both types of agave-based spirits that are popular in Mexico, but there are some key differences between the two. Tequila is made exclusively from the blue agave plant, which is primarily grown in the area surrounding the city of Tequila, about 40 miles northwest of Guadalajara. Mezcal, on the other hand, can be made from any type of agave plant, and is often made using traditional, labor-intensive methods.
One of the most noticeable differences between tequila and mezcal is their flavor. Tequila is typically smooth and subtle, with hints of fruit and spices, while mezcal has a more complex, smoky flavor that comes from the roasting of the agave hearts before they are fermented and distilled.
Another difference between the two spirits is their production process. Tequila is typically made using modern industrial methods, while mezcal is often produced using traditional techniques that have been passed down for generations. This can give mezcal a more authentic, artisanal character.
In general, tequila is considered to be a more refined and sophisticated spirit, while mezcal is often viewed as a more rustic and traditional drink. Both are popular in Mexico and are enjoyed around the world, so the best way to decide which one you like is to try them both and see which one suits your tastes.
