Tequila Ocho (Reposado) Arte Huichol Series

A Harmonious Blend of Art and Agave Introducing the Tequila Ocho (Reposado) Arte Huichol Series, a captivating expression that perfectly balances the vibrant purity of agave with a subtle, softening touch of oak. Encased in a bottle that is a true work of art, this Reposado is part of the esteemed Ocho Single Estate Tequilas Arte Huichol Limited Edition.

The Arte Huichol Spirit

The bottle itself is a celebration of the Wixárika (Huichol) people's profound artistic tradition. Each meticulously placed bead and intricate pattern tells a spiritual story, connecting the viewer to ancient prayers, sacred visions, and the deep cultural roots of Mexico. This Reposado bottle is more than just a container; it's a collectible piece of living art, echoing the spirit within.

Barrel: The Gentle Embrace of Oak

Tequila Ocho is celebrated for its Single Estate Tequilas, meaning the agave for each release comes from a distinct field, imbuing it with unique terroir. This Reposado is then carefully aged in oak barrels for a period of 2 months to just under a year. This brief resting period allows the tequila to mellow and absorb delicate flavors from the wood, enhancing its complexity without overshadowing the brilliant agave character.

Tasting Notes:

  • Reposado Refinement Color: A beautiful pale gold, clear and inviting.
  • Nose: A delightful bouquet that beautifully marries the sweet, cooked agave with soft notes of vanilla, caramel, and a hint of light spice like white pepper and cinnamon. There’s an underlying fresh, earthy aroma that speaks to its single estate origin.
  • Palate: Smooth and approachable, with a creamy texture. The initial taste is sweet agave, quickly followed by gentle flavors of butterscotch, honey, and a subtle oaky warmth. Hints of dried fruit and a whisper of almond or marzipan add to its refined character.
  • Finish: Medium-long, clean, and incredibly smooth. The finish leaves a pleasant sweetness of agave and oak, with a soft, lingering warmth and a touch of delicate spice.
  • Perfect For: Enjoying neat to appreciate its balanced profile, in an elevated Margarita, or as a sophisticated base for classic tequila cocktails.

Experience the artistry in every sip and every glance with this exceptional Tequila Ocho Reposado.

What is the difference between Tequila & Mezcal?

Tequila is a type of mezcal, much like how scotch and bourbon are types of whiskey.

Tequila and mezcal are both types of agave-based spirits that are popular in Mexico, but there are some key differences between the two. Tequila is made exclusively from the blue agave plant, which is primarily grown in the area surrounding the city of Tequila, about 40 miles northwest of Guadalajara. Mezcal, on the other hand, can be made from any type of agave plant, and is often made using traditional, labor-intensive methods.

One of the most noticeable differences between tequila and mezcal is their flavor. Tequila is typically smooth and subtle, with hints of fruit and spices, while mezcal has a more complex, smoky flavor that comes from the roasting of the agave hearts before they are fermented and distilled.

Another difference between the two spirits is their production process. Tequila is typically made using modern industrial methods, while mezcal is often produced using traditional techniques that have been passed down for generations. This can give mezcal a more authentic, artisanal character.

In general, tequila is considered to be a more refined and sophisticated spirit, while mezcal is often viewed as a more rustic and traditional drink. Both are popular in Mexico and are enjoyed around the world, so the best way to decide which one you like is to try them both and see which one suits your tastes.
