Tequila Pasión Beaded Añejo Cristalino

Tequila Pasión Añejo Cristalino Beaded Edition brings together contemporary distilling innovation and centuries-old Mexican artistry. The liquid inside begins with 100 percent Blue Weber Agave, harvested at peak maturity from the sun-drenched fields of Arandas, Jalisco. After being aged in oak casks for up to two years to develop the complex depth of a traditional Añejo, the tequila undergoes a meticulous activated charcoal filtration process. This removes the amber color while perfectly preserving the rich, mature flavors born from the wood.

The bottle itself is a stunning, collectible tribute to indigenous culture. Each one is hand-adorned by master artisans with thousands of vibrant Chaquira glass beads, utilizing ancestral Wixárika (Huichol) techniques. The intricate geometric patterns reflect sacred stories of spirituality, nature, and heritage, ensuring that no two bottles are completely identical.

Tasting Notes

  • Appearance: Flawless clarity, brilliant and water-white with platinum highlights. Excellent luminosity and a medium-to-heavy body that sheets smoothly on the glass.
  • Aroma: A clean, complex nose that opens with fresh-cooked agave and bright citrus peel. Delicate layers of orange blossom and faint anise emerge, rounded out by a soft, subtle hint of toasted oak from its time in the barrel.
  • Palate: Medium-bodied, silken, and remarkably smooth on the entry. It masterfully balances the vibrant, crisp qualities of a blanco with the sophisticated, sweet character of an aged expression. Notes of light vanilla, chocolate confit, and roasted nuts are grounded by a gentle, underlying woody structure.
  • Finish: Clean, crisp, and beautifully elongated. It leaves behind a lingering sweet warmth, marked by light herbal spice and a final touch of sweet cooked agave.

What is the difference between Tequila & Mezcal?

Tequila is a type of mezcal, much like how scotch and bourbon are types of whiskey.

Tequila and mezcal are both types of agave-based spirits that are popular in Mexico, but there are some key differences between the two. Tequila is made exclusively from the blue agave plant, which is primarily grown in the area surrounding the city of Tequila, about 40 miles northwest of Guadalajara. Mezcal, on the other hand, can be made from any type of agave plant, and is often made using traditional, labor-intensive methods.

One of the most noticeable differences between tequila and mezcal is their flavor. Tequila is typically smooth and subtle, with hints of fruit and spices, while mezcal has a more complex, smoky flavor that comes from the roasting of the agave hearts before they are fermented and distilled.

Another difference between the two spirits is their production process. Tequila is typically made using modern industrial methods, while mezcal is often produced using traditional techniques that have been passed down for generations. This can give mezcal a more authentic, artisanal character.

In general, tequila is considered to be a more refined and sophisticated spirit, while mezcal is often viewed as a more rustic and traditional drink. Both are popular in Mexico and are enjoyed around the world, so the best way to decide which one you like is to try them both and see which one suits your tastes.
