Rancho Coralillos/Potrero Grande (2023 Vintage) - Limited Release

Experience a remarkable fusion of heritage and terroir with this exceptionally rare Tequila Ocho Añejo. This limited 2023 release represents a unique collaboration, marrying the unparalleled agave-forward character of Tequila Ocho with the esteemed legacy of Kentucky's Old Fitzgerald Distillery.

Two distinct expressions, born from agaves harvested in 2023 from the celebrated Rancho Coralillos and Rancho Potrero Grande, will be released simultaneously. Each bottling offers a fascinating glimpse into the nuanced terroir of these single estates, showcasing the distinct artistry of the land and the distiller.

Aged for 12 months in highly coveted oak barrels that previously cradled Old Fitzgerald Bourbon's acclaimed 10-Year-Spring 2023 Decanter Series, this Añejo achieves a captivating balance. The rich, sweet notes imparted by the bourbon barrels gracefully intertwine with the vibrant, herbaceous essence of meticulously cultivated agave. Bottled at a robust 96-proof, this is a truly special spirit destined to become a prized addition to any discerning collection.

Tasting Notes:

  • Aroma: Expect an inviting bouquet of warm caramel and vanilla, layered with notes of cooked agave, subtle spice, and a hint of dried fruit. Depending on the Rancho, you might find brighter citrus notes from Coralillos or earthier undertones from Potrero Grande.
  • Palate: The palate unfolds with a luxurious smoothness, where the caramel depth from the Old Fitzgerald barrels harmonizes beautifully with the inherent sweetness and vegetal complexity of the single-estate agave. Hints of toasted oak, cinnamon, and perhaps a touch of dark chocolate emerge, leading to a satisfyingly full body.
  • Finish: The finish is long and warming, leaving a lingering impression of sweet caramel, gentle spice, and the distinct, clean character of high-quality agave. Subtle nuances reflective of the specific Rancho will continue to evolve on the palate.

Don't miss this extraordinary opportunity to own a piece of tequila and bourbon history. Secure your bottle of Tequila Ocho 'Old Fitzgerald' Barrel Añejo – a testament to craftsmanship, terroir, and the art of collaboration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is all your inventory online?

We try to keep the store as updated as possible, but we always get new shipments. So if you don't see what you are looking for, send an email, and we'll check to see what Moose is hiding in the back room.

Why is beer available as in-store pick-up only?

Our temperature-controlled storage systems preserve beer's quality and flavor until pickup. By maintaining precise refrigeration, we protect each batch's unique characteristics and ensure customers receive the freshest possible product.

However, due to the challenges of maintaining consistent temperature during shipping, we exclusively offer in-store pickup for our craft beers.

What is the difference between Tequila & Mezcal?

Tequila is a type of mezcal, much like how scotch and bourbon are types of whiskey.

Tequila and mezcal are both types of agave-based spirits that are popular in Mexico, but there are some key differences between the two. Tequila is made exclusively from the blue agave plant, which is primarily grown in the area surrounding the city of Tequila, about 40 miles northwest of Guadalajara. Mezcal, on the other hand, can be made from any type of agave plant, and is often made using traditional, labor-intensive methods.

One of the most noticeable differences between tequila and mezcal is their flavor. Tequila is typically smooth and subtle, with hints of fruit and spices, while mezcal has a more complex, smoky flavor that comes from the roasting of the agave hearts before they are fermented and distilled.

Another difference between the two spirits is their production process. Tequila is typically made using modern industrial methods, while mezcal is often produced using traditional techniques that have been passed down for generations. This can give mezcal a more authentic, artisanal character.

In general, tequila is considered to be a more refined and sophisticated spirit, while mezcal is often viewed as a more rustic and traditional drink. Both are popular in Mexico and are enjoyed around the world, so the best way to decide which one you like is to try them both and see which one suits your tastes.
