Siete Leguas "Siete Décadas" Blanco 700ML - Celebrate 70 years of tequila-making with the limited edition release of 7 Leguas Siete Decadas Blanco Tequila. Crafted using only Agave Criollo - agave grown in the wild - this tequila is a rare and exclusive spirit that offers a unique and rich flavor profile.

Only 70,000 bottles have been made to honor the brand's 70th anniversary, making it a truly special release for tequila enthusiasts and collectors. The agave criollos used in this tequila grow wild on steep hillsides and depend solely on rainwater, resulting in a smaller but richer piña that's slow-ripened.

The jimadores of Casa Siete Leguas then carefully harvest the agave after an extended period of up to 10 years. They face the challenges of mother nature just as the agaves did, performing the jima in a heroic way among the steep slopes.

Siete Leguas transforms the fruit of the agave into a unique tequila that celebrates the first 70 years of their house. This tequila offers a special and rare tasting experience for sipping or special occasions.

Enjoy this limited edition release while you can!

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: a pleasant and fresh aroma of agave, minerals, and citrus, with a noticeable sharp pepper note and delicate floral undertones. It's not as earthy as a standard 7L Blanco, but a hint of cinnamon adds subtle spiciness.
  • On the palate, the tequila immediately delivers a sweet and mineral taste of agave and a tropical banana note reminiscent of some rums. The texture is creamy and smooth, with a hint of butter. There's also an intriguing spice note that's not quite cinnamon but adds an extra layer of complexity to the flavor profile.

This tequila is a delicious and complex spirit that harmoniously combines various flavors.

What is the difference between Tequila & Mezcal?

Tequila is a type of mezcal, much like how scotch and bourbon are types of whiskey.

Tequila and mezcal are both types of agave-based spirits that are popular in Mexico, but there are some key differences between the two. Tequila is made exclusively from the blue agave plant, which is primarily grown in the area surrounding the city of Tequila, about 40 miles northwest of Guadalajara. Mezcal, on the other hand, can be made from any type of agave plant, and is often made using traditional, labor-intensive methods.

One of the most noticeable differences between tequila and mezcal is their flavor. Tequila is typically smooth and subtle, with hints of fruit and spices, while mezcal has a more complex, smoky flavor that comes from the roasting of the agave hearts before they are fermented and distilled.

Another difference between the two spirits is their production process. Tequila is typically made using modern industrial methods, while mezcal is often produced using traditional techniques that have been passed down for generations. This can give mezcal a more authentic, artisanal character.

In general, tequila is considered to be a more refined and sophisticated spirit, while mezcal is often viewed as a more rustic and traditional drink. Both are popular in Mexico and are enjoyed around the world, so the best way to decide which one you like is to try them both and see which one suits your tastes.
