Poncho Y Cisco Blanco Tequila
Crafted for those who appreciate the true artistry of additive-free spirits, Poncho Y Cisco Blanco Tequila is a masterclass in tradition. Honored by five generations of Tequila Masters, this premium artisan spirit is produced in micro-batches that highlight the pure essence of fully matured Weber Blue Agave.
The foundation of its unique character lies in the earth. The distillery uses deep well water, naturally filtered through ancient volcanic rock, which imbues the spirit with a distinct, refreshing minerality. Following distillation, the Blanco undergoes a rare, intentional maturation process, resting for exactly half a lunar cycle (approximately 2 weeks) in charred, used Kentucky whiskey barrels. This brief touch of heritage oak softens the vibrant distillate without stripping away its brilliant clarity, delivering an incredibly refined, smooth finish.
To preserve the absolute integrity of the craft, each run is strictly limited to 1,700 individually numbered, 750 ML bottles. Once a batch is gone, it is gone forever.
Tasting Notes
- Appearance: Crystal clear with brilliant silver flashes and exceptional, slow-moving legs that cling elegantly to the glass.
- Aroma: Vibrant, bright aromas of sweet cooked agave and fresh-cut grass take center stage. These are beautifully underscored by a clean, wet-stone minerality and an extremely subtle whisper of vanilla and oak courtesy of its brief lunar rest.
- Palate: Crisp and complex. The initial sip delivers an immediate burst of rich, buttery agave sweetness, quickly followed by a pleasant, earthy mineral texture. Hints of citrus zest and black pepper emerge mid-palate, offering a perfect balance of brightness and spice.
- Finish: Remarkably clean and lingering. The volcanic mineral essence lingers, rounded out by a smooth, faint warmth of charred oak and soft baking spices that invite another sip.

What is the difference between Tequila & Mezcal?
Tequila is a type of mezcal, much like how scotch and bourbon are types of whiskey.
Tequila and mezcal are both types of agave-based spirits that are popular in Mexico, but there are some key differences between the two. Tequila is made exclusively from the blue agave plant, which is primarily grown in the area surrounding the city of Tequila, about 40 miles northwest of Guadalajara. Mezcal, on the other hand, can be made from any type of agave plant, and is often made using traditional, labor-intensive methods.
One of the most noticeable differences between tequila and mezcal is their flavor. Tequila is typically smooth and subtle, with hints of fruit and spices, while mezcal has a more complex, smoky flavor that comes from the roasting of the agave hearts before they are fermented and distilled.
Another difference between the two spirits is their production process. Tequila is typically made using modern industrial methods, while mezcal is often produced using traditional techniques that have been passed down for generations. This can give mezcal a more authentic, artisanal character.
In general, tequila is considered to be a more refined and sophisticated spirit, while mezcal is often viewed as a more rustic and traditional drink. Both are popular in Mexico and are enjoyed around the world, so the best way to decide which one you like is to try them both and see which one suits your tastes.
