Matices de Mi Tierra Tequila Reposado

Experience the nuanced beauty of Jalisco with Matices de Mi Tierra Tequila Reposado, a spirit that truly embodies the "shades of my land." Crafted from 100% blue Weber agave, carefully harvested at its peak maturity, this exquisite tequila is a tribute to tradition and meticulous craftsmanship. After distillation, our Reposado is aged for a minimum of two months in oak barrels. This process delicately softens the agave's vibrant character and imbues it with a beautiful golden hue and a complex array of flavors.

Matices de Mi Tierra Reposado offers a perfect balance between the crisp freshness of unaged tequila and the rich complexity imparted by oak. It's an inviting expression, ideal for sipping neat to appreciate its full spectrum of matices, or for elevating your favorite tequila cocktails. Each bottle is a celebration of the unique terroir and artisanal heritage of Mexico.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: An inviting aroma of cooked agave, beautifully intertwined with notes of vanilla, caramel, and honey from its time in oak. Underlying hints of cinnamon spice, light fruit (like peach or apple), and a touch of roasted nuts may also be present.
  • Palate: Smooth and approachable, with a delightful interplay of sweet cooked agave and soft oak influence. Flavors of toffee, brown sugar, and vanilla cream are often complemented by a gentle peppery spice, dried fruit, and a subtle earthiness. The texture is often described as mellow and rich.
  • Finish: Medium-long and satisfying, leaving a pleasant warmth with lingering notes of sweet oak, a touch of spice, and the distinct, clean character of blue agave. It finishes smoothly, inviting another taste.

What is the difference between Tequila & Mezcal?

Tequila is a type of mezcal, much like how scotch and bourbon are types of whiskey.

Tequila and mezcal are both types of agave-based spirits that are popular in Mexico, but there are some key differences between the two. Tequila is made exclusively from the blue agave plant, which is primarily grown in the area surrounding the city of Tequila, about 40 miles northwest of Guadalajara. Mezcal, on the other hand, can be made from any type of agave plant, and is often made using traditional, labor-intensive methods.

One of the most noticeable differences between tequila and mezcal is their flavor. Tequila is typically smooth and subtle, with hints of fruit and spices, while mezcal has a more complex, smoky flavor that comes from the roasting of the agave hearts before they are fermented and distilled.

Another difference between the two spirits is their production process. Tequila is typically made using modern industrial methods, while mezcal is often produced using traditional techniques that have been passed down for generations. This can give mezcal a more authentic, artisanal character.

In general, tequila is considered to be a more refined and sophisticated spirit, while mezcal is often viewed as a more rustic and traditional drink. Both are popular in Mexico and are enjoyed around the world, so the best way to decide which one you like is to try them both and see which one suits your tastes.
