Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel takes the award-winning Small Batch Bourbon to new heights through an innovative finishing process. After reaching full maturity in traditional charred oak, the liquid is transferred into a custom-toasted finishing barrel.
These secondary barrels are crafted from 18-month air-dried European oak, toasted with a specific heat profile to extract deep sugars and complex wood flavors without the smokiness of a heavy char. The result is a bourbon that retains its classic "Old Heaven Hill" DNA while adding layers of caramelized sweetness and a creamy, silken mouthfeel.
Tasting Notes
- Color: Deep, polished mahogany. Nose: An immediate wave of toasted marshmallow and crème brûlée. Beneath the sweetness, you’ll find notes of baking spices, rich oak, and a hint of campfire smoke.
