The Collection & Tasting Notes

Casa Dragones Blanco (375 ml)

The benchmark for crisp, ultra-clean tequila. This 100% Blue Agave silver tequila is produced using a modern multi-distillation process for a remarkably smooth finish.

    • Aroma: Fresh floral notes, grapefruit zest, and green apple.
    • Palate: Silky and light with a signature semi-sweet agave flavor and hints of pepper.
    • Finish: Exceptionally crisp with a touch of cloves and almonds.

Casa Dragones Reposado Mizunara (375 ml)

A true innovator’s tequila. This is the first reposado rested in Mizunara, a rare Japanese oak traditionally used for world-class whiskies.

    • Aroma: Apricot, butterscotch, and a unique sandalwood spice.
    • Palate: A delicate balance of oak and agave with notes of orange peel and hazelnut.
    • Finish: Warm and elegant with a long, silky oak presence.

Casa Dragones Añejo Barrel Blend (375 ml)

A sophisticated blend aged in two different wood styles: New American Oak and French Oak. It is designed to preserve the agave’s integrity while introducing deep, barrel-aged complexity.

    • Aroma: Deep roasted agave, cacao, and black tea.
    • Palate: Rich and rounded with notes of nutmeg, blackberry, and vanilla.
    • Finish: A complex, lingering finish of spice and cooked pear.

Why It’s a Shop Favorite

At SF Tequila Shop, we love this pack because it bridges the gap between traditional craft and modern luxury. Casa Dragones is often called the "Tequila for Wine Lovers" because of its focus on clean aromatics and structured finish. Having all three expressions in the 375ml format is the perfect way to compare the influence of different oaks—from the mineral-driven Blanco to the exotic Mizunara Reposado.

"This trio is the gold standard for a home tasting flight. It’s an education in how wood and water can transform the same Blue Agave into three completely different masterpieces."

What is the difference between Tequila & Mezcal?

Tequila is a type of mezcal, much like how scotch and bourbon are types of whiskey.

Tequila and mezcal are both types of agave-based spirits that are popular in Mexico, but there are some key differences between the two. Tequila is made exclusively from the blue agave plant, which is primarily grown in the area surrounding the city of Tequila, about 40 miles northwest of Guadalajara. Mezcal, on the other hand, can be made from any type of agave plant, and is often made using traditional, labor-intensive methods.

One of the most noticeable differences between tequila and mezcal is their flavor. Tequila is typically smooth and subtle, with hints of fruit and spices, while mezcal has a more complex, smoky flavor that comes from the roasting of the agave hearts before they are fermented and distilled.

Another difference between the two spirits is their production process. Tequila is typically made using modern industrial methods, while mezcal is often produced using traditional techniques that have been passed down for generations. This can give mezcal a more authentic, artisanal character.

In general, tequila is considered to be a more refined and sophisticated spirit, while mezcal is often viewed as a more rustic and traditional drink. Both are popular in Mexico and are enjoyed around the world, so the best way to decide which one you like is to try them both and see which one suits your tastes.
