Discover the intense and captivating spirit of the Oaxacan highlands with Bozal Cuishe Mezcal. This small-batch, artisanal mezcal celebrates the unique and wild Cuishe agave (a subspecies of the Karwinskii Family) which thrives on the region's steep, rugged hillsides.
The Cuishe agave is notoriously difficult to harvest and work with, but its dense piña yields a spirit of exceptional complexity and character. The production honors a 200-year-old tradition: the agave hearts are roasted in earthen pit ovens, crushed by a stone tahona wheel, naturally fermented in open-air vats, and finally double-distilled in copper stills.
This 200 ml bottle is a perfect introduction to the untamed, rich flavors of a single-maguey mezcal that is truly expressive of its wild origin.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Intense aromas of citrus, particularly burnt orange, complemented by bright floral notes of honeysuckle and a pervasive minerality.
